Pandu or your phone's Medical ID?

Updated 31 October 2026 · Fábio José dos Santos

iPhone and Android have a Medical ID hidden in the emergency screen. It is useful and worth filling in. Pandu covers what it can't. Ideally, use both.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free emergency QR code app?

Yes. Pandu SOS is free, needs no sign-up and is ready in 1 minute in your phone's browser. It creates a QR with allergies, medicines, blood type and a family contact. Whoever helps you points their camera and sees everything at once, with nothing to install.

Can I create my parents' and kids' QRs on my phone?

Yes. In Pandu, after creating your QR, tap "Add a family member or pet". Each person or pet gets their own QR and you switch between them with one tap, all on the same phone and with no sign-up. Ideal if you care for elderly parents or children.

How do I put my medical information on my lock screen?

In Pandu, after creating your QR, tap "Put on lock screen". It makes an image with the QR to use as your lock screen wallpaper. Whoever helps you can scan it without unlocking your phone.

What is the best emergency ID for seniors?

One that works even without a phone. With Pandu, a senior carries a bank-card-sized card in their wallet, with the QR on the front and the information written on the back, and can add stickers to a walking stick or walker.

Is there a QR code tag for dogs and cats?

Yes. With Pandu you create your pet's QR for free, with your contact and its care needs. Whoever finds your pet scans it and can call you, WhatsApp you and send you their location in one tap. Print the QR and put it on the tag or collar.

How can I identify someone with Alzheimer's or autism who may get lost?

With a QR on a card, a sticker or their clothes. When Alzheimer's or autism is marked in Pandu, the card asks the finder to contact the family and shows a button that sends the finder's location on WhatsApp.

Can I keep the QR in my phone's digital wallet?

On Android, yes. Save the lock screen image, open Google Wallet, tap "+" and choose to add from a photo. With the dynamic QR, the pass stays up to date when you edit Pandu. In an emergency, the helper uses the QR on your lock screen, because they cannot open your wallet.

Who can see my data?

Only whoever scans your QR. Your data leaves the phone encrypted and the key stays inside the QR, so not even Pandu can read it. No sign-up, no cookies, no selling of data.

Pandu SOS is not a medical service and does not replace emergency care.
