QR code pet tag for dogs and cats
Updated 31 October 2026 · Fábio José dos Santos
If your pet runs away, whoever finds it needs to know who to call. With Pandu you make a free QR in 1 minute with your contact and your pet's care notes. The finder points their phone camera at it and reaches you right away, with nothing to install.
How it works
- On the home page, tap "Create one for my pet" and enter the name, species and care notes, such as "Shy, may run away".
- Add your phone number and, if you like, someone else in the family.
- Tap "Print tag and stickers" and attach the QR to the collar.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free QR code ID tag for pets?
Yes. With Pandu SOS you make a free QR for your dog or cat with your contact and its care notes, with no sign-up. It is ready in 1 minute in your phone browser.
How does a QR code pet tag work?
Whoever finds your pet points any phone camera at the QR. A card opens at once with the pet's name, care notes and your contact, with buttons to call, send a WhatsApp message and share where the pet is. Nothing to install.
Is the QR code on the collar a GPS tracker?
No. The QR has no battery and no GPS. The location arrives when the finder scans the QR and taps the button to share their location. That is why it always works, with no charging and no subscription.
How do I put the QR on the collar?
After creating it, tap "Print tag and stickers". Cut out the QR, laminate it or slip it into a clear tag holder and attach it to the collar. The stickers also work on the pet carrier.
My pet has a microchip. Do I need the QR too?
Having both is best. A microchip can only be read with a scanner at a vet or shelter. Anyone can read the QR with a phone, on the street, right away.
Can I keep my pet's QR and my family's QRs on the same phone?
Yes. In Pandu, tap "Add a family member or pet". Each one gets its own QR and you switch between them with one tap, with no sign-up.
Who can see my pet's details and my phone number?
Only whoever scans the QR. The data leaves your phone encrypted and the key is inside the QR, so not even Pandu can read it. No sign-up, no cookies, no selling of data.
The Pandu QR complements the microchip and any ID your city requires. It is not a GPS tracker.
